Tim Dolezal was appointed Vice President and Chief Investment Officer on July 1, 2024. He is responsible for managing the University’s investment portfolio and leading the Notre Dame Investment Office.
The University’s investment portfolio includes its endowed funds, working capital pools, charitable trusts, and pension assets, as well as the long-term financial assets of the Congregation of Holy Cross and its affiliated institutions. Tim oversees the portfolio’s investment strategy, asset allocation, investment selection, and risk management. The Notre Dame Investment Office consists of over 40 mission-driven professionals across both Investment Management and Investment Services. Tim is responsible for attracting and developing world-class talent, building and maintaining a high-performing culture, and advancing the processes and systems that facilitate the team’s investment decisions.
A third generation “Domer,” Tim was the valedictorian of the Notre Dame class of 2002, earning a BBA in Finance. After graduation, Tim joined the Investment Office where he has now served for over 20 years. In 2007, Tim was promoted to Investment Director and has since been a member of the Office’s Management and Portfolio Committees. He has served in a variety of senior roles across asset classes including both public and private equity. In 2020, Tim was elevated to Managing Director, working seamlessly with the Chief Investment Officer in managing all facets of the investment portfolio and organization.
Tim is a CFA Charterholder. He co-chairs the Notre Dame Wall Street Leadership Committee and is a member of the Investment Committee of the Diocese of Ft. Wayne-South Bend. Tim lives in South Bend with his wife Kate (ND ’04, M.Ed.) and their six children.
