Monday, March 10, 2008   4:00 p.m.   NSH 124
(Refreshments served prior to seminar in NSH 124)

The R-Matrix computer code AZURE is designed for the analysis of excitation curves containing complicated interference effects not only from resonances but also direct capture contributions.  The reaction 16O(a,g)20Ne cross section from Ecm ~ 1 to 3.5 MeV is just such a case.  A brief overview of R-Matrix theory as it pertains to AZURE will be given followed by a short summery of the experiment.  The bulk of the talk will be spent demonstrating how one practically applies AZURE to this type of reaction.

All interested persons are cordially invited to attend.
