This year’s annual Midwest Relativity Meeting (MWRM18) will be hosted by the Center for Astrophysics, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Astrophysics, and the Department of Physics at the University of Notre Dame.
Meeting Dates: Friday and Saturday Oct. 24-25. See details at conference web site: http://www.nd.edu/~astro/MWRM18/.
Venue: The format of the meeting will be as in past Midwest Relativity Meetings. Talks will consist of short contributed papers in an informal atmosphere. Each participant may present a talk of ~15 minutes depending upon the total number of talks. Undergraduates, graduate students and post-docs are especially encouraged to make presentations.
Conference Site: Talks will be held in the Jordan Hall of Science and/or the Physics Department on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. See map at the conference web site.
Accommodations: A limited number of rooms are being held at the Morris Inn directly across the street from the conference center, http://morrisinn.nd.edu/. The conference rates for the rooms are $132.00 plus tax for one person in a room and $152.00 plus tax for two people in a room. The rates include breakfast off the menu in the Hotel Restaurant and free wireless. Call the hotel directly to make reservations at 574-631-2000 and mention the group number 4880 or the Midwest Relativity meeting.
A less expensive block of rooms is being held at The Waterford Estates Lodge, approximately 2 km north of campus. The Lodge will provide shuttle service to and from the conference and also to and from South Bend Regional Airport upon prior arrangement. To make reservations call the Lodge at 877-783-8496 and mention the Midwest Relativity Meeting.
These blocks will be held until September 23, 2008. After that date, room availability cannot be guaranteed.
