Astrophysics continues to be data-driven in the sense that advancement in observing technology and data handling accelerate science data acquisition at 'astronomical' pace. Along with this, new science questions emerge, some of which require a fundamentally enhanced understanding of nuclear astrophysics. One of these it the formation and evolution of stars and their cosmological environment, and how it is manifest in the swelling data stream of high-resolution spectroscopic stellar abundance data of the most metal poor stars.
