Colloquium

Double Beta Decay and Nuclear Theory

Professor Jon Engel

University of North Carolina

Wednesday, March 16, 2005   4:00 p.m.  NSH 118

(Refreshments at 3:30 p.m. NSH 284)

The next generation of double-beta-decay experiments may reveal how much neutrinos weigh. After reviewing what we already know about neutrino masses and mixings, I'll explain how double-beta-decay experiments work, why they are are so important, and what nuclear theory can do to make them even more important.

All interested persons are cordially invited to attend.
