Research Interests

One of my specialties is to design, simulate, develop and optimize new solutions, and apply those solutions to real world measurements of low energy nuclear reactions of astrophysical interest. In the search for the needle in the haystack, my work is to keep up with the ever growing haystack. The current highlight of my work is the design of the recoil separator St. George in collaboration with Dr. Georg Berg.  St. George is a unique tool dedicated to the study of reactions that are responsible for the production of energy and elements in stars. In the near future, St. George will be installed at Notre Dame. Its commissioning followed by the first measurement of reaction of astrophysical interest will be my main focus.

Selected Publications
