The print version of Notre Dame Magazine is produced
quarterly by the University of Notre Dame. Its circulation of
150,000 includes 100,000 Notre Dame alumni. New
subscribers are welcomed.
The print magazine's purpose is three-fold. It reports on University
events and activities, institutional trends and campus developments,
its people, history and scholarship. It also provides news of
Notre Dame's alumni and alumnae as well as the school's Alumni
Association.
Third, the magazine has a continuing education component. Each
edition contains feature articles and essays covering a broad
range of topics -- issues relating to current affairs and societal
trends, the arts and sciences, business, technology, family concerns
and matters relating to the Catholic church. While the subjects
are as broad as those found at any university, the treatment in
Notre Dame Magazine is a reflection of the institution
in that it is most interested in the moral, spiritual and ethical
aspects of these discussions.
The online version shares this editorial philosophy and posts
feature and news stories found in the print issue. In addition,
this electronic version offers reflective essays written by alumni
about their Notre Dame experiences, "web extra" copy providing
information in addition to print articles, and various reader
services (from poster sales
to change of address capabilities). The online version does not
include class notes, some graphic elements and an occasional feature
found in the print issue.
