Visiting states both red and blue, the author asked women
their opinions on such issues as immigration, gay marriage, abortion and war. For the average
woman, the journalist found in her conversations, a single issue might be the deciding factor in
her vote.
"[W]ealthy or homeless, in college or retired, women said they felt disregarded by both
parties," she writes.
The author, a former reporter for The New York Times and a former contributing editor for Newsweek magazine, is the political editor for the Huffington Post.
