on the South Quad for a Mass.

placed this bedsheet banner, with lyrics from a U-2 song, in a Breen-Phillips
window on Sept. 11. It was one of the first public signs of grief and
loyalty on the ND campus.
A flag at
half staff was a stark reminder of the losses that resulted from the terrorist
activities.

pre-game ceremonies that honored fellow Americans killed on Sept. 11,
2001.
