Mary Lou Forward, Director of African Studies, SIT Study Abroad
Mary Lou Forward has worked extensively in international exchange and study abroad program management at both the high school and university levels. A former academic director for SIT Study Abroad programs, including Madagascar: Cultural History and Geography and Madagascar: Ecology and Conservation, Ms. Forward has also served as technical advisor to several village associations in Madagascar. She has presented and conducted trainings on issues of sustainable development, environmental conservation, and international education at universities, organizations, and professional meetings. She is a member of the African Studies Association and NAFSA: Association of International Educators. Prior to joining SIT in 1992, Ms. Forward received her Masters in International Administration from the SIT Graduate Institute.
