Libraries
The University of Notre Dame’s libraries range from informal hall libraries with a few shelves of books to the substantial professionally oriented collection of the Kresge Law Library, to the 14-story Theodore M. Hesburgh Library.
The Hesburgh Library and the 10 other libraries on campus contain a total of nearly 3 million volumes, more than 5,850 electronic titles, more than 3 million microform units and 25,200 audiovisual items. They subscribe to approximately 12,100 serials.

Notre Dame's Rare Book Collection, consisting of some 125,000 volumes, covers a broad spectrum of subjects but the strengths are Roman Catholic Church history, liturgy, law, and theology; English and American literature; Irish studies; and more generally art, architecture, and science.
